What we've been up to
Getting the trees taken down around the shed
Cloth diaper laundry
Collecting plants for the mailbox container
Taking pictures of the flowers we already have
Running through puddles
Cleaning sand out of our Crocs
Setting up our raised bed gardens
Blocking our shawl
Having some juice on a sunny afternoon
Helping Daddy set up the garden fencing
Chillin' in the backyard

What we did today
Daddy had an SCA event just down the road, so we decided to join him. S put on her "princess dress" (her words not mine) and we headed out. First stop, gazing lovingly at Daddy:
Then we stopped for a drink
We brought S's own swords and shields
She used them to make friends with the kids. I've already picked out a boyfriend for her.
Then another snack while wearing Daddy's hat
The ever elusive shot with Mom
It was a beautiful day and we had a good time. Everyone was nice to us, and S loved playing with the other kids. We hope to attend another event soon :)

Oh, so many things to share
Daddy and S hung out, and she played with her doggie Jingle in her stroller
Grania sent some cool bells to play with. S loves bells!
Grania also sent a hat. S loves to wear it in the car
S also got to meet the Cat in the Hat. Trust me, she was thrilled to see him. You'd just never know it from this picture
I can't stop taking pictures of her in this skirty
S also took a stroll around the grounds in the rain
And washed some rocks
And played in wet sand
These are 2 reasons we are no longer considering getting chickens. We had 2 fox families in our yard today
I took a yarn dyeing class this weekend, and here's how my first efforts turned out!
Grania sent a multi-purpose suitcase today. It can be a toy, or a suitcase, and it rolls! Score! Thanks Grania!

Wanna know why healthcare is so expensive?
Oh, and I'm going to talk about boobs. You've been warned.
I went for my annual mammogram last month. The tech told me that if there was any hint of an unclear picture, I'd get sent to the hospital for their superfancy, extra-special 3D mammogram. She talked about it like she was trying to sell me one. I envisioned trouble ahead. I have cysts, and have for a long time, and it's a new joint. They were going to be trouble, I just knew it.
Sure enough, the next week I got a call that there was a "density", and that I needed a super special 3D mammogram, plus an ultrasound. I drove to the hospital, got them both, and the dr said she saw a maybe kinda sorta suspicious shadow in one of my cysts. So she aspirated it. Good times. Meanwhile, that form I'd filled out for my old films never got anywhere, so I had to re-order them.
Lo and behold, this week I got a call that the super fancy 3D mammogram looked different from my old 2D mammogram last year in the backwoods of PA. So I needed to come in for yet another ultrasound. *sigh*
Today I went in. Again. And waited 2 hours, because they had some emergencies (there are mammogram emergencies?). The (different) doctor did my ultrasound and said he didn't find anything remarkable, but to be sure I could go for an MRI (!), or come back in 6 months and get a repeat mammogram with their super fancy 3D machine. Assuming *that* 3D mammogram looked like the one I just had, he'd leave me alone for a while.
So to date, a simple preventive mammogram has turned into 2, plus 2 ultrasounds, plus an aspiration, plus a recommendation for a possible MRI, or at least yet another mammogram. All for cysts that have rarely caused me problems
I'm all for preventive medicine, but this is getting to be a bit much.

How to jump in puddles on a rainy day
Step 1: Put on sweater and pants (very important)
Step 2: put on rainboots (also important)
Step 3: Add raincoat
Step 5: Don't forget the hood!
Step 6: Now get out there and jump!
Mommy got in on the act too
